This way people who are looking for a particular political dogma know where to go for news.

Finding a news outlet that works for you might take time. Not everyone agrees with everything (obviously) and so you may not find just one outlet that strikes a chord with everything being reported about. Its sort of give and take when it comes to reading and listening to the news so don’t throw the baby out with the bath water if you don’t agree with everything being said on any particular station. Read news online to get a real sense for the righting and voice. Look up biographies about each new caster and see what kind of background each one came from.

Car gearboxes are a fundamental part in the ‘making the car go’ process. The gearbox converts engine speed into torque which propels the car forward. In a manual car, when the clutch is depressed by the driver, the sliding gear is disengaged from its original position so that it can slide up and down the gearbox, allowing the driver to select the appropriate gear. Automatic gearboxes on the other hand, select the correct gear so that the driver doesn’t have to. The amount of pressure in the engine, detected by a hydraulic system measuring fluid in the engine, influences the choice of gear. Recent bad news from the US includes the news that Whirlpool corporation are to close its manufacturing facilities in LaVergne, TN, U.S. and Reynosa, Mexico.

Production of built-in refrigerators currently manufactured at the LaVergne facility will be moved to the company’s Fort Smith, AR facility, and production of side-by-side refrigerators made at Reynosa will shift to Whirlpool’s Ramos Arizpe, Mexico site. At LaVergne, approximately 500 jobs will be eliminated, while at Reynosa, an estimated 750 jobs will be affected. The Fort Smith plant expects to add approximately 275 jobs by December, and the Ramos Arizpe facility plans to add an estimated 600 employees by mid-year.

Like wise in the UK, The Electrolux Group has announced that it is to close its loss-making cooker factory in Spennymoor towards the end of next year and consolidate production into an existing cooker plant in Poland. The Spennymoor factory manufactures AEG, Electrolux, and Zanussi cooking appliances – mainly free standing cookers – plus a smaller number of built-in ovens, for the UK and Irish markets and has approximately 500 employees.

“This development, in combination with a shift in consumer preferences from free-standing cookers to built-in cookers, has eroded the competitiveness of our Spennymoor factory. Running a loss-making factory is not sustainable which is why we have decided to consolidate our UK cooker manufacturing into our factory in Swidnica in Poland.” said Magnus Yngen, head of Electrolux Major Appliances Europe.

The closure of the Electrolux cooking appliance factory at Spennymoor means that cooker production in Britain will be limited to range cooker production plus a handful of niche built-in manufacturers. This is seen by many in the industry as an inevitable outcome due to the lower production costs from producing appliances in the far east.

During the period of my life (between the ages of four and twenty-two) that I had a stutter, the main area where I sought help was via my local speech and language therapists. This was useful up to a point but was never ever going to provide with me with the answers that I was looking for. Why? Well mainly because the speech and language therapists had not had a stutter and therefore could not truly comprehend what life was like for me.

I have a friend who is now a speech and language therapist and he has stated that only a very small percentage of the course/study that he under took was in relation to the speech impediment stuttering and stammering. This tells its own story.

I also read various books about stuttering. The main problem with books is that they are not updated, they are basically static and as we all know the world evolves, things change – the content of a book stays the same.

By far the best resource these days has to be the internet. Yes I am fully aware that there are a great deal of very poor websites on the net but by conducting a search on a search engine such as Google for a term such as “stuttering therapy”, “stuttering treatments” or “stuttering advice” will bring up a number of top quality websites, websites which are updated on a regular basis.

Electric shocks are a particularly serious example of injuries that can be sustained in the office, whilst back injuries are common too. In these cases, the employer would be considered to be failing in its duty to the employee if the electrical equipment hadn’t been tested or was faulty or if the employee had not received full training on proper lifting techniques.

Many employees are afraid to lodge an accident claim against their employer and it is certainly a delicate matter. However, an employer cannot legally terminate a contract of employment on the grounds of an accident claim and the claim may well save another person from being injured in the future.
